How the right support turned Carol's house back into a home

Our recent project, delivered in close partnership with Citizens Advice Chelmsford, reflects this commitment and our shared values of dignity and practical support for residents.

The Situation

Through a referral from Citizens Advice Chelmsford, we met a resident facing significant challenges with home comfort, security, and energy efficiency. With an outdated boiler, old windows and doors, and inefficient pipework, the home suffered from poor insulation and uneven heating—contributing to both discomfort and rising energy costs. By working together, our organisations ensured the resident received the right guidance, support, and solutions, removing barriers and providing reassurance every step of the way.

The Impact

With these improvements, the resident now enjoys a home that's significantly warmer, more efficient, and secure. Projects like these highlight that meaningful change happens when the right help and expertise come together. We're proud to work alongside Citizens Advice Chelmsford, ensuring residents can move forward with dignity, safety, and the comfort of home.

Our Response

  • Boiler and Pipework Replacement: Installed a new, energy-efficient boiler with associated pipework, ensuring reliable heating and hot water.
  • Enhanced Heating System: Replaced old pipework and fitted new valves, bringing all existing radiators up to modern standards for better temperature control and reduced running costs.
  • Secure, Energy-Efficient Entrance: Upgraded the front door and side light with a new, secure UPVC door. This modern entrance not only improved safety but helped retain warmth within the home.
  • New Windows for Kitchen and Bedroom: Fitted new, double-glazed UPVC windows in the kitchen and first floor bedroom dormer, increasing insulation, comfort, and light.
